AKRAGAS, The Valley of the Temples (2-4 hours)
Visit to the ancient Greek city of Akragas, today Agrigento, which still retains its original structure. The craftsmanship and the beauty of the buildings of these Doric temples are now enhanced by the changing colors of the sandstone. Our guides will make you relive those years of pomp and glory, when this Greek polis (city-state) was a powerful center of a large territory.
And visit to the ARCHAELOGICAL MUSEUM where you will meet the giant Telamon, a statue from the enormous temple of Zeus. The setting of the tour is the nature of the valley of Agrigento, dotted with almond and olive trees. We suggest you to have lunch at a restaurant on the sea run by fishermen who fish and cook their own fish or you can have a lunch in a nearby restaurant.
